The US Southeast is getting its first EV battery supply chain project

Chemical company UBE Corporation will invest $500 million to build the first US manufacturing facility for EV lithium-ion battery ingredients dimethyl carbonate (DMC) and ethyl methyl carbonate (EMC) in New Orleans. The Tokyo-headquartered company has formed a new company called UBE C1 Chemicals America (UCCA) for its new US venture.

Hyundai Unveils New 1.6L Gamma GDI, 3.3 Lambda GDI Engines; New Verna

The new Gamma features a 150-bar direct injection fuel system, Dual Continuously Variable Valve Timing (DCVVT), a Variable Induction System (VIS) and anti-friction coatings such as CrN Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) coating and Diamond Like Carbon (DLC) coating. The Verna will go on sale in the second half of this year.
