Tesla’s Gigafactory in Nevada is committed to manufacturing EV batteries using 100% solar energy by the end of 2019. EVs are still more expensive to buy at the outset, but they quickly pay for themselves over time in terms of financial value and reduced carbon emission when compared to ICE vehicles.
