Paradox 1 - Soot: There's an apparent emissions paradox with plug-in hybrids (PHEV): Driving longer distances on battery power means more cold starts as the internal combustion engine (ICE) stops and starts up again after the batteries deplete. Third-party and DIY converters can't muck with every system on a car.

An (expected) high price tag. Can these things add up to make a car that people want to buy? It seems like it still may be cheaper to just buy a well used Lotus Elise and modify it yourself. I also think it will be cheap, which is why I think someone will buy the group. Small size. New technology. A troubled company.
