Where it falls down is its EPA-rated range: a mere 208 miles. We logged energy consumption at 41 kWh per 100 miles. That wouldn’t provide even 200 miles of range. The electric XC40 comes from Ghent, Belgium, incidentally. On the road—disappointing for a $50K-plus EV in 2021—the XC40 Recharge proved inefficient.

Based on our precious metals recycling, we pioneered industrial-scale battery recycling in 2011 in Belgium.
