“The Toyota Prius took over five years to reach break-even and has gone on to be a wild success.&# Also maintenance on these (no oil changes to speak of) etc will cost much less than an internal combution propelled car. So the Volt would cost $32,500–not so much more than what people are reportedly paying for the Prius.
