The slowdown was especially pronounced in advanced economies; 27 countries saw an increase or stagnation in average vehicle CO 2 emissions in the two years up to 2017. Higher improvement rates were also seen in markets with higher shares of electrified vehicles (hybrid, plug-in hybrid and battery electric). Source: GFEI.
