Why, simple the US embraced Fracking to produce bountifully supplies of cheap gas. While Boris is in New York pressing world leaders to cut CO2 output here is the UK we find ourselves lacking in CO2. Needs – Solar and Battery. Right now, production is low in Russia, so the cost has increased. No Fracking.

And in a true smart grid, electric cars will not only be able to draw on electricity to run their motors, they will also be able to do the reverse: send electricity stored in their batteries back into the grid when it is needed. In effect, cars would be acting like tiny power stations. We will own the battery.
