The alternative-fuel car evolved to reduce exhaust emissions and other problems derived from burning fossil fuels. The potential is enormous because the current grid has sufficient energy capacity to supply every vehicle in the United States if every one of them was a PHEV. To ignore this potential is wasteful and foolish.
