All we really need in addition to fleets of new paradigm vehicles are additional solar and wind generation sources. High-volume manufacturing of long electric range PHEVs is a good start. In fact, the optimized PHEV is much more efficient as a long range liquid fuel vehicle, because the engine is downsized.
