Conversion to dual overhead cam with dual cam phasing: as applied to overhead valves designed to increase the air flow with more than two valves per cylinder and reduce pumping losses. Cylinder deactivation: deactivates the intake and exhaust valves and prevents fuel injection into some cylinders during light-load operation.
