Mazda Ford Partner was reported to be developing Series PHEV based on Mazda 5 MPV platform. The resulting fuel efficiency improvements mean lower CO2 emissions and less fossil fuel consumption and, therefore, less pollution. Coal-burning power plants do not lessen the greenhouse gas production and criteria pollutants increase.
