Revenge of the Electric Car

Bright Automotive says it soon release an electric car with a 100 mile per gallon plus plug-in – and the company says it will keep the car economically priced. Bright Automotive, which spun out of the Rocky Mountain Institute in January, is building a plug-in hybrid vehicle that will get 100 miles a gallon (see Green Lightpost).

With this charge it can travel an average daily distance of about 30 miles (50 km), which is often enough to serve most consumers’ needs. Both owners drove an average of 12,000 total miles in the year.
