The goal of the strategic alliance is to bundle the expertise of both car manufacturers with a view to jointly developing vehicle components and possibly also vehicle concepts. ŠKODA traces its history back to 1905, with the production of automobiles by Laurin & Klement Co. in what would become Czechoslovakia in 1918.
