In the last few weeks, not only has Chrysler made announcements, so has Mazda, Hyundai, and Nissan. The tests are sufficiently advanced that Mazda has a working prototype in a Mazda 5 MPV bodyshell. He explained that Chrysler is currently demonstrating electric cars and plug-in hybrids to dealers to get their feedback.

The fleet models will be part of a test bed for Toyota and future development of the plug-in Prius may at some point lead to a consumer model. The upcoming plug-in Prius will use the traditional nickel metal hydride battery system, but future versions will likely see the addition of a lithium ion battery pack. FREE, No obligations!
