Among available HER electrocatalyst candidates, layered transition-metal dichalcogenide (MX 2 ) catalysts based on molybdenum and tungsten have attracted substantial interest due to their low cost and high intrinsic per-site HER activity. The initiative is a federal program to speed the discovery and implementation of advanced materials.
