The Model 3 its affordable ($35,000 as it was originally advertised, though most have sold for more), smaller model changed everything. A disappointing compliance car, the Ford Focus EV, languished while plug-in hybrid versions of the midsize Fusion and small crossover C-Max sold relatively well, until Ford came up with a real plan.
