At this point it was 2008, and AMPbot was scheduled for release in early 2009, but that was not to be. The financial crisis of 2008 changed the priorities for all the toy companies, and after only about a dozen pre-production prototypes were made, AMPbot was cancelled by Hasbro. I mean, who doesn’t want a cool music playing robot?
