In late 2008, BYD started selling the first production PHEV in China. First Escape PHEV delivered to SCE Nov 2007; 20 in 2008-2009. Plans Cadillac Converj, Opel Ampera, other versions. Batteries not ready. Has shown some concept fuel-cell PHEVs. Shifted earlier focus to all-electric Focus in 2011 with Magna.
