The facility is planned to manufacture battery cells for SolarEdge’s residential solar-attached batteries as well as battery cells for a variety of industries, including mobile applications, energy stationary storage solutions (ESS) and UPS applications. The opening of Sella 2 is an important milestone for SolarEdge.

Since 2006 it has tested more than 300 battery powered cars in the greater Tokyo area. From this experience it became convinced that fast chargers were the answer to overcome consumers concerns about the electric vehicle’s limited range.
