The Gen III Prius offers an EPA-rated combined cycle fuel economy of 50 mpg (now revealed to comprise 50 mpg city and 49 mpg highway). Hybrid Synergy Drive. All Hybrid Synergy Drive vehicles released subsequent to that vehicle have employed a boost converter capable of up to 650 VDC output to the inverter.
