Worldwatch Institute report finds global energy intensity increased in 2010 for second year in a row

Between 2004 and 2008, global energy intensity experienced its sharpest decline in 30 years, with an average annual growth rate of 1.87%. In addition to technological advances, price developments play a key role in determining overall energy usage, Worldwatch notes. From 2001 to 2010, the rate dropped to 0.03%.
