Although Spring is in the air and we have so many current events of great importance, there’s reason to think about how difficult next winter will be for heating oil consumers. For months, we have seen rising energy costs – natural gas, electricity, and gasoline.

The US Department of Energy (DOE) launched the “ eGallon ” as a quick and simple way for consumers to compare the costs of fueling electric vehicles vs. driving on gasoline. Today’s national average eGallon price is about $1.14, meaning that a typical electric vehicle could travel as far on $1.14 worth of gasoline.

On the gasoline side, the 2013 Ram 1500 equipped with a 3.6-liter liter Pentastar V-6 gasoline engine earned 25 mpg (9.4 MultiJet 2’s high-dispersion nozzles and advanced-technology servovalve can accommodate up to eight fuel-injection events per cylinder cycle. The combined city/highway rating is 23 mpg (10.2 l/100 km.).
