The 2010 Ford Escape Hybrid is advertised as the most frugal sport-utility vehicle in America when it comes to fuel consumption. The Escape Hybrid combines two electric motors generating 94 horsepower with a 2.5 A continuously-variable transmission handles the gear shifting duties, and thanks to excellent system management the Escape Hybrid is about as fast as a regular version of the same truck. This is largely due to a concentrated effort from Ford to save weight and improve the capabilities of the SUV’s outstanding gasoline / electric powertrain, allowing them to claim dominance in an area of the market where few other automakers have tread.

World's First V2G Demo: Xcel/Hybrids Plus/V2Green/US Lab+Ford Escape Hybrids
It's big news that a demonstration fleet of six Ford Escape Hybrids with the hardware and software to enable intelligent two-way energy exchanges between the cars and the power grid will be on the road this year!
Consortia The project, which will convert six Ford Escape Hybrids to PHEVs equipped with V2G technology so each can charge and discharge power to and from the grid, is one of the nation's first real-world demonstrations of the emerging technology.
With This is a long-awaited next step on "Vehicle-To-Grid:" to actually get some V2G-capable cars on the road for testing.

100,000 Escape hybrids: Is it a milestone?
Ford's Kansas City Assembly Plant has now produced its 100,000th Ford Escape hybrid . The Escape hybrid has been around since 2004 and we're finally hitting the 100,000th hybrid? Nonetheless, Ford's press release also noted an Escape hybrid being used in San Francisco as a taxi cab that has now traveled more than 300,000 miles without any major mechanical problems. Ford's commitment to hybrids? Wow.
