It's easy to forget that BMW have already produced two EVs - the 2009 MINI-E, which is undergoing trials in the U.S. BMW are busy working away on another EV though, one that will wear the famous blue and white propeller badge. and elsewhere in the hands of individuals, and the 2009 ActiveE concept based on their 1-Series Coupe.

What’s up with the BMW MINI E?
The BMW Mini E has hit the streets. In June about 500 cars were placed in consumer and fleet hands in Los Angeles and New York and New Jersey for what BMW calls a " field trial." Like all the automakers, BMW dabbled in concept electric cars over the years. Only BMW knows and they’re not saying. see the ad here.)

BMW to tackle emissions with two new concepts
As it marks its 25th birthday, BMW Forschung und Technik (Research and Technology) GmbH has premiered two projects that could both slash fuel consumption and emissions in the future. The first, is a prototype fuel cell hybrid vehicle (pictured below) that has been designed to offer emission-free mobility in city traffic.

BMW looks into waste heat recovery
BMW is looking into ways to maximise waste heat recovery in vehicles with two pathways being explored - thermoelectric and thermodynamic. The BMW study used two basic single loop systems - an exhaust gas only as the heat source; and exhaust gas and coolant. per cent. . per cent and 31.7 per cent.
