Rolls-Royce Power Systems has outlined its road map for climate neutrality: Net Zero@Power Systems. Or it relates to fuels such as hydrogen, that would not at all emit CO 2 at the exhaust pipe. This near-term target plays a significant role in Rolls-Royce Group’s ambition to achieve net zero by 2050 at the latest.

However, BEVs still emit PM locally from road, tre and brake wear, as all motor vehicles do.

In February 2022 and also under the HECTOR initiative, Aberdeen City Council unveiled the UK’s first refuse collection vehicle (RCV)—a Mercedes-Benz Econic with a 250 kW Hyzon electric motor coupled to an Allison 3000 Series transmission in conjunction with a 45 kW fuel cell.
