When Clean Fleet Report first reviewed the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid in 2017, it was the only electrified minivan on the market. But the landscape has changed since 2017 as the 2021 Toyota Sienna minivan is now a hybrid. Ready to ride.

Postal Service with a fleet of 250 all-electric Chrysler Town & Country minivans in Michigan, North Carolina and the New York City area beginning later this year. Retail versions will use a system similar to that of the Volt, with a small gasoline engine used strictly to run a generator to recharge the onboard battery pack.

Also, besides giving you the ability to charge at night when most utility rates are lower, future vehicle-to-grid (V2G) technology may allow you to sell some of your stored energy back to the utilities. Currently, there are some industrial facilities that use battery swapping to replenish the energy stores of electric forklifts.
