Nissan and the city of Seattle have joined forces with the belief that electric cars will offer one of the best solutions in the battle against carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. In Seattle, power comes from the utility Seattle City Light, which is the first public utility in the world to be “net zero&# for greenhouse gas emissions.

Nissan is forming a partnership with Progress Energy of Raleigh, NC, and the Raleigh-based nonprofit agency Advanced Energy, to advance zero-emission mobility by promoting the development of an electric vehicle (EV) charging network. Nissan also has agreed to make available a supply of EVs to Progress Energy. and Seattle.
