The “wet” part of a DCT means it uses oil to improve lubrication and cooling. A “dry” DCT does not use oil, but is the more fuel efficient of the two types. The EPA rated the Santa Cruz’ fuel economy at 19 mpg city/27 highway/22 combined. A torquey turbo four. The tail end is where things get interesting.

At the time of the press release, I could not find a definitive picture. If electric vehicles are going to stand a chance against petro-based cars, standards are a must. This is a major step froward in EV mass production. Update: The plug depicted above is not the agreed upon standard. Sorry for any confusion. More on Electric Cars: It’s On!
