The OPIS survey tracks actual gallons moved out of retail stations and it features sharper losses than those reported by the Energy Information Administration (EIA). Year-on-year comparisons are even more significant at the regional level, with some regions seeing declines of 20% or more from Thanksgiving Week 2019.
