We spent a week in the smallest Genesis sedan that is designed to take-on the BMW 3-series and Mercedes-Benz C-class sports sedans and found it was a lot of well-engineered car for the money. We were surprised to cross the 30 mpg mark for this 3,915-pound, five-passenger midsize SUV.

The EPA estimates the G80’s fuel economy to be 17 mpg city/26 highway/20 combined. If fuel economy is a pacing item, then getting 32 mpg with the smaller displacement probably is worth foregoing the performance benefits of the larger engine. The dash had real carbon fiber trim along with a minimal use of brushed aluminum.
