US DOE Awards $300 Million in Clean Cities Grants to Support Alternative Fuels, Vehicles, and Infrastructure Development

The project will result in expanded availability of alternative fuels with 17 new CNG and E85 fueling stations and 63 electric vehicle charging stations. Team partners will purchase a total of 191 commercially available light- to heavy-duty alternative-fuel and advanced-technology vehicles. Total DOE award: $14,999,658.

Only 76 percent of apartment households own a vehicle compared to 92 percent of all households; yet NHMC data also show 66 percent of apartment households still travel by car, truck, motorcycle, or taxi to work, which is comparable to 76 percent of all U.S.
