The EPA fuel economy numbers of 21 mpg city/26 highway/23 combined are almost exactly what we got covering 301 miles driving through Southern California. We were hoping to get 30 mpg on the highway, but no matter how hard we tried the best we could do was 28.1

Competing in the premium midsize SUV category, the 2021 Cadillac XT5 is right in the middle of stiff competition, including models from Acura, Audi, BMW, Genesis, Infiniti, Land Rover, Lexus, Lincoln, Maserati, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, Tesla and Volvo. We were surprised to cross the 30 mpg mark for this 3,915-pound, five-passenger midsize SUV.

Running on unleaded premium, the EPA has rated the fuel economy at 19 mpg city/25 highway/21 combined. The dual level, horizontal LED tail lights wrap from the fender to the hands-free power lift gate, and sit above the lower fascia that features dual round exhaust ports and a continuation of the cross-hatch design.
