The Central Lancashire team’s car was based around a 30cc petrol engine that had been developed in-house and had been coupled with a bespoke engine management system that keeps fuel consumption low. It is also fitted with the brakes from a mountain bike. The existing records are impressive.

Several dozen prototypes on 15-passenger van since 2004; now in second generation development; no production plans. Blue Concept PHEV Van with diesel or hydrogen fuel cells and rooftop photovoltaic. Daimler/Mercedes Took over Daimler/Chrysler Sprinter PHEV program. Showed BlueZERO E-CELL PLUS series PHEV concept in December 08.
