Minnesota has become the latest state to adopt California clean car standards; the new standards were finalized by a notice in the state register on Monday. The policy will implement two clean cars standards to reduce vehicle emissions. The rule only applies to new light- and medium-duty vehicles for sale in Minnesota.

The New Mexico Environmental Improvement Board (EIB) and the Albuquerque-Bernalillo County Air Quality Control Board (AQCB) have each adopted the Clean Car Rule after a joint public hearing. Their independent approval of the Clean Car Rule allows California’s Advanced Clean Cars to be implemented statewide in New Mexico beginning 1 July 2022.

In 2020, Volkswagen Passenger Cars delivered more than 212,000 electric cars in total (+158 percent versus 2019), including nearly 134,000 battery electric vehicles (+197 percent versus 2019). Even though it was only introduced in the second half of the year, it ranked in the top of the sales charts in many countries almost right away.

We had that Mercury Cougar that created a stir earlier this week, and now we fast forward from the muscle-car era to the days of my youth for this 1998 Lincoln Mark VIII. Now it is up for sale with 163,000 miles on it. The interior is worn and the car leaks oil, and the check engine light is on for a misfire and lean condition.

vehicle sales last month are expected to fall overall as data rolls in, August has traditionally been a very good month for sales of plug-in electric cars. The Chevrolet Volt, for one, kept up its pace this year, with August sales of 2,081, for an eight-month total of 14,295 Volts delivered so far this year.
