EPA released the latest edition of its annual report on trends in CO 2 emissions, fuel economy and powertrain technology for new personal vehicles in the US. Fuel economy has now increased in eight of the last nine years; average carbon dioxide emissions are also at a record low of 369 g/mile in model year 2013.

Hyundai and Kia settling litigation over fuel economy reductions; valued at up to $395M

Hyundai Motor America and Kia Motors America have entered into settlement agreements with current and former owners and lessees of vehicles affected by the Hyundai/Kia November 2012 lowering of fuel economy ratings. Ford lowers fuel economy ratings for hybrids, plug-in hybrids, and Fiestas; goodwill payments to buyers coming

Ford Motor Company is lowering the fuel economy ratings for its 2013- and 2014-model year hybrid and plug-in hybrid vehicles, as well as most 2014-model year Fiestas. Ford said it had identified an error with fuel economy ratings on the vehicles and notified the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
