In 2001, a team of engineers at a then-obscure R&D company called AC Propulsion quietly began a groundbreaking experiment. They wanted to see whether an electric vehicle could feed electricity back to the grid. The company’s president, Tom Gage , dubbed the system “vehicle to grid” or V2G.

A key element in achieving these goals is the certification of the most important mtu engine products, which will run on sustainable fuels from as early as 2023 and then be successively brought into use. The aim is to reach a CO 2 net-zero operation of combustion engines. This is not yet relevant for Rolls-Royce applications.

The 798 AC is powered by the Cat C175-16 diesel engine with the Cat AC electric drive; the 798 AC has a payload of 372t. The C175-16 engine is available with two horsepower options and can be configured for US EPA Tier 4 Final / EU Stage V regulations. It houses the evaporative-cooled modular IGBTs and motor controls.

Researchers at the University of Michigan and Ford Motor Company have conducted a cradle-to-grave life cycle GHG assessment of model year 2020 ICEV, HEV, and BEV sedans, sports utility vehicles (SUVs), and pickup trucks in the United States. The lower and higher limits of each range are results for base and premium models, respectively. .
