In the Netherlands, 47% of new car sales were plugin car sales in September. Furthermore, 34% were full electrics! The Netherlands saw an increase in plugin registrations to 13,916 units in September, with the Dutch plugin vehicle (PEV) market thus reaching 47% of the overall auto market last month.

Tesla Cybertruck craze is upon us, with tons of sightings of the electric pickup’s pre-production versions being reported across the U.S. In one unique sighting over the weekend, a user pulled up next to the Cybertruck in his DeLorean for a quick photoshoot. Reddit user u/BladeBronson shared photos of his DeLorean DMC-12 next to the Cybertruck on Sunday morning, showing off the forthcoming electric truck next to the vehicle made famous by the Back to the Future movies.

An organization named Downtown Area Shared Hubs (DASH) just launched a new low-cost ride service in downtown Tampa, Florida, using 6 electric Tesla Model Y SUVs. Riders can use an app on iPhones or Android phones to schedule short zero-emissions trips in seven downtown Tampa neighborhoods in the bright yellow Teslas.

Tesla has not released many details about the Cybertruck’s specs, though one person who spotted one of the truck’s release candidates in recent weeks took to filming the vehicle close-up — capturing the unique electric pickup from several different angles.

A recent sighting of the Tesla Cybertruck in the wild has revealed something quite unique about the all-electric pickup truck. As it turns out, the Cybertruck will have its own Sentry Mode graphic, and it looks pretty darn cool. Sentry Mode was initially released in February 2019 amidst incidents of break-ins against Teslas in the United States. The feature uses the cameras around a Tesla to constantly monitor the vehicle and alert drivers if necessary.

In a recent update, Tesla has added a few new features, including the ability to view recent trips and an updated user interface for the Trip Planner function. Volkswagen Group has been working hard to increase its share of the global battery electric vehicle (BEV) market, and it seems to be paying off. The German automaker increased its BEV deliveries by 45% globally as of September 2023. Volkswagen Group reported delivering 531,500 battery electric vehicles from January to September 2023, up 45% compared to the same period in 2022 when VW delivered 366,600 BEVs.

Kramer, who was nominated by the IEEE Board of Directors, received 19,105 votes in the election. IEEE Life Fellow Roger U. Fujii received 14,525.
