Ford Fusion electrified vehicle retail sales spiked in the Los Angeles market during the month of June, the first month of availability for the new 2017 model. Based on Ford June sales figures, Fusion Energi (the plug-in hybrid variant) sales jumped nearly 40% in LA compared to June 2015.

DiDi, China’s leading mobility-as-a-service provider, has also announced it is adopting NVIDIA DRIVE for its entire autonomous driving test fleet. Orders are starting now for the sedan, with the SUV following in 2022. These robotaxi companies join others already developing on the NVIDIA DRIVE platform, including Pony.ai and Auto X.

And I am sure some Malibus were being bought by fleets, not Joe and Jane down the street. That second part is true, and the first part definitely applies to body-on-frame SUVs. I am still smarting over the loss of the Ford Fusion, which looked great and drove well -- it's only real flaw was a lack of rear headroom.

Comparing GM’s April sales with March, total volume was up 11%, or about 16,600 cars, crossovers and trucks, largely driven by a return to more normal volumes of fleet sales compared with a very weak first quarter. to 28,955 units; sales of SUVs dropped 60.9% Sales of cars were down 28.8% to 42,536 units. from last April.

The Model X SUV remained “Much-Worse-Than-Average” for reliability, with ongoing problems including the falcon-wing doors and center display screen. The Grand Cherokee and Renegade improve to “Average,” while the Cherokee and Compass SUVs have “Below-Average” reliability. Jeep has mixed results, falling two spots to 22.
