So other than for my 200-mile, time-sensitive drives to and from my home to the Rivian offices near Detroit to retrieve and relinquish the truck for testing where I needed to maximize my range, I left the truck in all-purpose mode for my around-town commuting. Access to the full power is intoxicating. I’m not quite there yet in my world.

Detroit now has a quarter-mile length of roadway with the ability to charge properly equipped electric vehicles as they drive. While similar programs have been pioneered in Europe, Detroit is the first and only city to do so in the United States. & Considering the general state of Detroit roads, those concerns may be warranted.

Hopefully the funding was from the same place as well… 2 Bill C said on March 13th, 2009 at 1:21 pm I think a few billion should be taken out of the Detroit bailout and give some capital to all of the electric car companies. The tango (commuter cars) says they only need 50 million to become profitable. This is a drop in the bucket.
