Hopefully the funding was from the same place as well… 2 Bill C said on March 13th, 2009 at 1:21 pm I think a few billion should be taken out of the Detroit bailout and give some capital to all of the electric car companies. The tango (commuter cars) says they only need 50 million to become profitable. This is a drop in the bucket.

Guess what, this company, picked up one of the old trdemarks and it will be manufactured under the name "Detroit Electric". Sure beats Detroit, same old, same old gas buggy, and anothe Purple PLUM, whoops PUMA, two wheel, or is 4wheel, kiddy car. The PUMA is just another example of the fact that Detroit, particularly GM, is clueless.

Wind, hydro, DC transmission lines, and smart grid electronics are also Portland strengths. Even if you charge your EV with electricity made from coal fired generators you reduce your car’s pollution by half.
