SoCalGas to partner with SunLine Transit Agency to test combination of technologies to produce hydrogen from RNG

(SoCalGas) will demonstrate a combination of technologies that will produce hydrogen from renewable natural gas (RNG) at SunLine Transit Agency’s hydrogen fueling station in Thousand Palms, California. The SunLine location will be able to produce up to 650 kilograms of hydrogen a day.

California Energy Commission approves plan to invest up to $115M for hydrogen fueling infrastructure; 111 new stations by 2027

The California Energy Commission (CEC) approved a plan today that will invest up to $115 million to increase significantly the number of fueling stations in the state that support hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEVs). To date, the CEC has funded 45 open retail hydrogen stations with an additional 16 under construction.

China's GAC announces hydrogen combustion engine

Chinese automaker GAC Motor claims to have successfully tested a hydrogen combustion engine, although it's unclear if the engine will ever reach production. Instead of using fuel cells to generate electricity, GAC designed an internal-combustion engine to burn hydrogen in place of gasoline or diesel.
