Chevrolet dealerships in the initial launch markets of California, Connecticut, Maryland, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Texas, Virginia and Washington, DC will be receiving dedicated Volt demonstration vehicles for customer test drives over the next few weeks. Chevy expects to deliver Volts in all 50 states by the end of 2011.

Participating Chevrolet dealers in seven key launch markets across Canada have begun taking orders for the all-new 2012 Chevrolet Volt, with an MSRP starting at C$41,545 (US$43,568). Within twelve months of the retail launch, Volt will be available at dealerships nation-wide.

On a standard household 220-volt outlet, the Cruze EV can be fully recharged in 8 to 10 hours. The result of shared development with GM Daewoo, LG Chem and LG Electronics, the electric Cruzes will be part of a demo fleet that will operate in South Korea’s capital, Seoul. The demo project is expected to launch by the end of October.

Level 2 chargers provide 240 volts, offering up to 20 miles of range for every hour a vehicle is plugged in. DC fast chargers provide 480 volts, offering 180 miles or more per hour of charging. Con Edison will share results from its V2G demo later this week.
