Two things have definitely made the car more fun to drive. I've learned some of the tricks to driving the car. Apparently, the AC motor feels like it has more torque at non-zero RPMs (perhaps just a false perception). The DC-DC converter is still working fine, so the car is actually quite convenient to drive.

Last week I was mostly on vacation, so I didn't get a chance to really charge the car at full amperage many times. I've charged the car seven times in the summer heat and the charger can dump a full 8 amps into the batteries every time without heating up the charge detector box. I'm excited but will be happy when it's all over.

I visted Synkromotive two days ago to look into becoming a Beta tester of their new motor controller. Northwest Battery here in portland highly recommended Discover EV31a-a and FullRiver group 31 batteries over the Dekas as well, but they also cost more. The ZAP cars have a Discover EV31a-a upgrade, so they appear to like them too.
