It’s now what’s know as an orphan car—no longer in production as GM moves to full electrics. I love several things about the Volt that tipped my decision to buy out the lease and keep on driving—mostly on electricity: The Lectron charger has style and speed. The Tesla adapter is a must in my neighborhood.

I’m guessing Bloomfield thinks he’s buying a Ben Allen who would NOT be Waxman-like on the issues. I’m an environmental activist, not a party person. In fact, he’s just a bit player in this production. Ben would have to be a lot more weirded out than this is making him feel.

Last week, as part of the little known and unadvertised “Bolt Buyback” program GM quietly created in response to the recall of all their 2017- 2019 Bolts, Chevy paid $37,900 to buy this car back from us. Debra and I finally got our first electric car, A 2012 Toyota RAV4 EV, a joint production with Tesla, in January of 2013.

How am I supposed to look anyone under 40 years old in the eye unless I do everything I can to buy them some more time and stave off the worst of what’s coming? . I gave the Carson City Manager what has now become my standard reply. “What’s in it for me?” That’s unacceptable to me.
