EPA is also proposing numerous changes to the National Recycling and Emission Reduction Program. EPA will accept comments on the proposal for 60 days following publication in the Federal Register.

The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has issued final approval for HFO-1234yf refrigerant ( earlier post ) in motor vehicle air conditioning systems. The chemical, which does not deplete the ozone layer, may now be used in air conditioning for new cars and light trucks. Using HFO-1234yf is one option available to automakers.
