GM expands landfill-free efforts in Asia

General Motors’ Rayong engine plant in Thailand and Cheongna proving ground in Korea are now landfill-free , bringing the company’s total to 33 sites throughout Asia that recycle, reuse or convert to energy all of their daily waste. GM’s landfill-free facility count in Asia compares to 45 in North America and 22 in Europe.

Holden to develop new vehicles for Shanghai General Motors in China

GM’s Holden signed an agreement with Shanghai General Motors (SGM) and the Pan Asia Technical Automotive Center (PATAC) to develop new vehicles for SGM and its affiliates in the growing China market. PATAC is a 50-50 joint venture between GM and Shanghai Automotive Industry Corp (SAIC).

LG Chem signs $19 billion battery deal with GM

LG Chem is signing a nearly $19 billion deal with General Motors that will see the battery company supply the automaker with battery materials over the course of ten years. The deal was first reported by Nikkei Asia. LG Chem announced today that it would supply 500,000 tonnes of cathode material to GM through 2035.
