Contrary to some reports, Toyota said , the RAV4 EV will definitely be sold to the general public as well as to fleet users. Toyota Motor Sales (TMS), USA, unveiled the second-generation Toyota RAV4 EV demonstrator vehicle at the Los Angeles Auto Show in 2010. Toyota will bring the RAV4 EV ( earlier post ) to market in 2012.

Upon completion of the feasibility study and subject to the execution of definitive agreements, Amyris and Wilmar anticipate forming a joint venture entity, through which they would manufacture the products to be marketed by Wilmar through its established channels. The joint venture may produce its own Biofene for captive use.

Carbon dioxide is the renewable carbon source, which is converted to sugars by plants, and those plant sugars can be converted to isobutanol using the Gevo Integrated Fermentation Technology, or GIFT. Isobutanol may be converted into isooctane, which can be used to reduce gasoline’s RVP and increasing its octane rating.
