The biggest drop was in April 2020 (a reduction of 40% compared with April 2019) followed by a gradual rebound later in the year. In December 2020, the reduction was 11% compared with December 2019. In July 2020, Solaris completed deliveries under an earlier order for 26 vehicles of this type. Since 2002, the manufacturer has supplied nearly 300 vehicles to Romanian carriers, including more than 100 Trollino vehicles and 41 Urbino 12 electric battery buses. The value of the contract amounts to about €19 million.

In New York, General Motors and Honda announced a long-term, definitive master agreement to co-develop next-generation fuel cell system and hydrogen storage technologies, aiming for the 2020 time frame. Honda began leasing of the Honda FCX in 2002 and has deployed 85 units in the US and Japan, including its successor, the FCX Clarity.

As demand for lithium-ion secondary batteries has increased tremendously, worldwide demand for lithium carbonate for batteries has rapidly swelled from 6,000 tons (in 2002) to 66,000 tons (in 2015). Separately, PSOC announced it will invest 300 billion won (US$261 million) in its anode materials business— POSCO ESM —by 2020.
