San Francisco commits to all-electric bus fleet By 2035; MUNI Board approves pilot program

San Francisco orders 175 light rail cars from Siemens for $648M; option for 85 more

San Francisco’s Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) has awarded Siemens a contract to deliver an initial 175 light rail cars for its Muni transit system at a value of US$648 million. Siemens, which beat CAF for the contract, will deliver a newly-developed light rail car based on its Model S200 for the San Francisco order.

Ford C-MAX Hybrid posts 3,182 units in first full month of sales, outpacing Prius v

Ford’s new C-MAX Hybrid ( earlier post ) sold 3,182 units in October in its first full month of sales, outselling the Prius v’s 2,769 units. The C-MAX Hybrid also led Ford in achieving its best October hybrid sales month ever with a total of 4,612 sales, up 142% over October 2011.

Statue Cruises signs agreement for completion of large hybrid ferry by April 2011

Statue Cruises has signed an agreement with Derecktor Shipyards in Bridgeport, CT to complete a hybrid ferry by April 2011.
