But besides that, the only electronics potentially benefiting from THIS breakthrough are RCs and household rechargeable batteries.

The electricity for recharging has to come from somewhere, which means power plants. The true impact of electric vehicles should consider the make-up of the power grids where these cars will be used. While Id been harsh on the need for outside recharge stations in the past, actually an intermediate charge may extend battery life.
